Ripple Expands Stablecoin Reach, Invests in Compliance Infrastructure
Ripple's July was marked by significant developments in its stablecoin business and institutional infrastructure. The company expanded the reach of its dollar-pegged stablecoin RLUSD through partnerships with OpenUSD and SBI VC Trade, which secured approval from Japan's Financial Services Agency (JFSA). This move reinforced Ripple's commitment to multichain infrastructure supporting institutional adoption across the crypto industry.
Ripple also launched a platform called Ripple Mint designed to help financial institutions issue, manage, and redeem RLUSD more effectively. The firm announced a strategic investment in Notabene, a company specializing in compliance and payment infrastructure, aiming to improve regulated cross-border payments while supporting broader adoption of Ripple's stablecoin.
The XRP Ledger saw significant growth with over 1.4 million transactions initiated by AI agents as of July 22, highlighting the increasing experimentation with autonomous applications and machine-to-machine payments on the XRPL. Although still in its early stages, this milestone demonstrates developers' growing interest in using the XRPL for use cases beyond traditional payments and token transfers.
