Ripple Extends Blockchain Partnership with NYU Abu Dhabi Through 2027
Ripple has strengthened its blockchain partnership with NYU Abu Dhabi through 2027. According to Reece Merrick, Senior Executive Officer/Managing Director, Middle East & Africa at Ripple, this milestone is particularly significant for him as someone based in the UAE.
The University Blockchain Research Initiative (UBRI), launched by Ripple in 2018, continues to expand its global footprint, fostering a network of premier academic partners to drive pioneering research and foundational education in digital assets.
Ripple's UBRI has partnered with NYU Abu Dhabi on several projects, including the expansion of the Volta Initiative and hands-on research on the XRP Ledger. This work, led by Professors Raša Karapandža and Yaw Nyarko at CTED, is a great example of turning decentralized technology into real-world impact.
Merrick expressed his excitement for the next chapter of innovation coming out of Abu Dhabi. The partnership will allow NYUAD to continue strengthening its role as a regional hub for blockchain research and talent development.
