Ripple Extends NYUAD Partnership Through 2027 for XRP Ledger Development
Ripple has extended its University Blockchain Research Initiative (UBRI) partnership with New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) through 2027. The renewed funding will support blockchain research, education, and implementation on the XRP Ledger.
The partnership will increase the capacity of the Volta Initiative, a blockchain-enabled mobile app for trading with smallholder farmers in Ghana. The next phase of the project will expand Volta to other areas, examining financial instruments capable of meeting real challenges faced by farmers and local market actors.
NYUAD researchers will use the funding to explore decentralized systems' potential for enhancing market efficiency and reducing trade costs. They will also experiment with hands-on development on the XRP Ledger, a key concept of the program.
