Ripple Eyes Larger XRP Releases Amid CLARITY Act Hopes
The CLARITY Act could lead to Ripple retaining more XRP from its monthly escrow releases, according to an SEC filing by Cryptex Finance. The proposed Digital Market Cap ETF assigns XRP a 4.88% portfolio weighting and suggests that Ripple may use additional XRP to support on-ledger liquidity for stablecoin and foreign-exchange trading pairs.
The filing does not identify a source or date supporting the claim, but attorney Bill Morgan highlighted it as an interesting development. He noted that the statement could indicate expectations for stronger XRP demand following clearer U.S. digital-asset regulations.
Ripple cannot simply withdraw time-locked XRP before scheduled escrow dates because the XRP Ledger enforces those conditions. Instead, the company could retain more tokens from its regular monthly releases rather than returning them to escrow.
