Ripple Hits $16 Trillion Transaction Volume, But What's Being Done About It?

Ripple's CEO Brad Garlinghouse recently made a significant claim about the company's performance. The financial institution processed $16 trillion in transactions last year, a figure that puts it on par with major payment processor Visa. However, only a small fraction of this volume moved on-chain through XRP or stablecoins.

This means that while Ripple handled enormous volumes, most of these transactions were settled off the blockchain. Garlinghouse explained that each 0.1% represents roughly $160 billion and highlighted the company's goal to increase the share of on-chain transactions as overall volume expands.
