Ripple Integrates AI into Corporate Treasury Platform
Ripple is expanding its corporate treasury business by adding an AI layer to manage cash and digital assets. The company has integrated GSmart, a treasury-native AI system, into its existing platform that allows enterprises to view, hold, and manage traditional cash alongside XRP and RLUSD.
The new system is already in production across Ripple Treasury's enterprise customer base and provides recommendations without automatically executing financial actions. Deterministic systems perform the underlying calculations while AI interprets policies, identifies anomalies, and explains recommendations.
Ripple cites Gartner estimates that by 2028, the average Fortune 500 company could use more than 150,000 AI agents, but only 13% of organizations believe they have adequate AI-agent governance. The company's pitch is centered around its governance model, where human treasury teams retain final approval.
The expansion of GSmart into forecasting, liquidity, risk, reconciliation, and reporting aims to make it easier for companies to manage their cash flows and identify potential liquidity gaps. Ripple Treasury already connects to roughly 13,000 banks and handles about $12.5 trillion in payments volume.
