Ripple Invests in Fintech Firms to Bolster Tokenized Asset Capabilities
Ripple has made strategic investments in two UK-based fintech firms, ZILO and Licuido, to enhance the XRP Ledger's capabilities. These companies provide compliant data infrastructure, identity solutions, and liquidity tools that will support tokenized assets on XRPL.
The move comes as financial institutions are starting to use XRPL for real-world applications, such as investment fund products. Ripple is positioning the XRP Ledger as a comprehensive capital markets ecosystem where banks and asset managers can issue, manage, trade, and utilize tokenized assets.
ZILO builds AI-driven software that keeps official records of fund ownership, while Licuido provides an FCA-regulated platform for institutions to use tokenized fund shares. This allows them to instantly borrow against their assets, turning 'dead' balance sheet capital into liquid assets.
