Ripple Invests in Regulated Infrastructure for Capital Markets on XRP Ledger

Ripple has made a significant investment in two companies, ZILO and Licuido, to create regulated infrastructure for capital markets on the XRP Ledger.

The move is part of Ripple's effort to 'weaponize' XRPL for full-blown capital markets, with the goal of making traditional finance obsolete.

ZILO handles digital transfer agency technology, supporting tokenized share classes as funds move onchain, while Licuido manages issuance, distribution, and execution of financial assets as digital collateral.

Ripple's stablecoin RLUSD acts as the regulated cash leg for transactions, settling atomically on the XRP Ledger.

Nigel Khakoo, SVP of Trading and Markets at Ripple, confirmed that asset managers including Aviva Investors, Franklin Templeton, and DBS are already deploying tokenized fund structures at scale.
