Ripple Joins Forces to Combat North Korea-Linked Crypto Threats
Ripple has joined forces with Crypto ISAC to share its internal threat intelligence on North Korean-linked crypto attacks. The data, which includes fraud-associated domains, wallet addresses, and indicators of compromise, will be made available to industry participants through a newly launched API.
The initiative follows the $280 million Drift incident, in which threat actors spent six months gaining the trust of contributors before compromising their devices. This type of sophisticated operation is becoming increasingly common, with companies in both crypto-native and traditional financial institutions seeing more of this type of attack linked to North Korean threat actors.
Crypto ISAC's director of growth, Christina Spring, stated that 'companies in both crypto-native and traditional financial institutions are seeing more of this type of sophisticated operation, linked to North Korean threat actors who are working from the inside out.'
