Ripple Launches Ripple Mint Platform with Global Compliance Focus
Ripple has launched Ripple Mint, a platform that enables institutions to manage their Ripple USD (RLUSD) from a single console. This new platform replaces the previous setup for RLUSD operations and offers real-time transaction tracking with alerts for fiat receipt, minting, and on-chain settlement.
RLUSD is issued under state financial regulation by Standard Custody & Trust Company, a New York-chartered trust firm, and Ripple operates its stablecoin business in Japan through SBI Group. According to Jack McDonald, an executive at Ripple, the company's investment in compliance firm Notabene is aimed at globally compliant stablecoin transfers.
The partnership between Ripple and Notabene targets the regulatory challenge of identity verification before transaction settlement. Notabene collaborates with banks and virtual asset service providers to share compliance data pre-transfer, screening counterparties and authorizing transactions.
