Ripple Minting Fresh RLUSD as XRP Price Surges

Ripple's operations team has been active in minting fresh RLUSD tokens on the XRP Ledger. On August 20, 2026, they executed a transaction to generate an additional 900,000 units of the USD-pegged stablecoin.

This move coincided with a significant surge in the price of XRP, which rose by 18.8% over the last 24 hours and reached an intraday high of $1.24.

The company also executed parallel burns totaling 35.4 million RLUSD between the official treasury and the Ethereum network during the same session.

Ripple confirmed that the creation of new circulating supply was part of a larger sequence of transfers recorded by treasury monitoring systems, with an issuance of 20 million RLUSD reported three hours prior to the smaller transaction.
