Ripple Prepares XRP Ledger for Quantum Threats Amid Near-Term Downside Risk
Ripple is taking steps to prepare its XRP Ledger for potential quantum-computing threats. Senior Director of Engineering Ayo Akinyele revealed a four-stage roadmap aimed at mitigating vulnerabilities and testing quantum-resistant cryptography.
The plan involves identifying vulnerabilities, testing cryptographic protections, running existing and new security systems in parallel, and eventually migrating the broader network to a more secure system.
Ripple also has an emergency upgrade path in place in case quantum computing advances faster than expected.
