Ripple President Claims Institutional Adoption of XRP Ledger Has Gone Mainstream
Ripple President Monica Long says institutional capital markets have reached a turning point, shifting from testing blockchain technology to deploying it in live production.
In a recent post on X, Long noted that financial institutions are increasingly moving towards 'onchain 24/7' operations, with the XRP Ledger at the forefront of this transition.
Ripple has made strategic investments in ZILO and Licuido to expand tokenized asset infrastructure on the XRP Ledger. These investments add regulated transfer agency, digital issuance, and collateral mobility capabilities to Ripple's institutional infrastructure.
Nigel Khakoo, Senior Vice President of Trading and Markets at Ripple, emphasized that tokenization alone will not transform capital markets. Instead, it is the real utility of tokens that holds value, including buying, selling, and settling trades instantly, or using them as collateral to borrow, lend, or post margin.
