Ripple President Declares 'Light Switch Flip' for Tokenized Assets
Ripple President Monica Long has declared that the industry has moved past the testing phase of tokenized assets. According to her, 'the veritable light switch flip' occurred in the last year, where institutions shifted from pilot projects to production and started using tokenized assets like money market funds and liquidity funds.
This change is exemplified by Aviva Investors' tokenized USD Liquidity Fund on the XRPL, which shows that institutions are no longer just experimenting with these assets. Long emphasized that Ripple's goal is to deliver a full-stack digital asset setup, allowing participants to manage the entire lifecycle of a tokenized asset on the ledger.
The 'light switch flip' narrative reframes the industry from 'when will institutions actually use this?' to 'they already are, now the infrastructure has to keep up.' Long's statement highlights that the experimental chapter is closed, and the focus should be on institutional utility rather than short-term price action.
