Ripple Rolls Out Confidential Transfers on XRP Ledger
Ripple has released an updated version of its XRP Ledger (XRPL) software, which includes a new feature called Confidential Transfers. This feature allows institutional investors to encrypt their transaction details, protecting their position sizes from public view.
The update also includes several other amendments aimed at supporting institutional users, such as the ability to bundle transactions and delegate authority to third parties. The changes are not yet active, but must pass a voting process involving over 80% of trusted validators for two consecutive weeks before they can be implemented.
Ripple's stablecoin RLUSD accounts for the largest share of tokenized assets on XRPL, with approximately $845.7 million in value. The total value of real-world assets (RWAs) issued on XRPL is around $1.38 billion, representing about 4-5% of the estimated $31 billion RWA market.
