Ripple Secures EU License, But XRP Price Continues to Fall Despite Regulatory Boost
Ripple has secured another regulatory victory in Luxembourg, where its Crypto Asset Service Provider license has been fully authorized by the CSSF. This brings Ripple's total global licenses to over 75 and solidifies its position at the forefront of fintech and digital assets.
The CASP authorization is significant because it unlocks full MiCA compliance for institutions that partner with Ripple, addressing a major concern holding them back. The company's own survey found that 72% of European fintechs believe digital asset solutions will be essential for financial institutions by 2026, and 44% expect stablecoins to become the default for cross-border payments within five years.
Ripple has already seen traction in Europe, with BBVA building digital asset custody for retail customers in Spain on its infrastructure and DZ BANK launching one of Germany's first institutional digital asset custody platforms. Ripple Payments now supports payouts across 60-plus markets on 51 real-time payment rails, backed by over 20 banking partners and $100 billion in total volume processed.
However, despite this positive news, the price of XRP has continued to fall, breaking through a key support level of $1.05. The measured move from the triangle breakdown targets $0.90 to $0.92, and the $1 psychological level is now resistance on any bounce attempt.
