Ripple Secures Key EU License for Expanded Payments and Stablecoin Services
Ripple has secured its Crypto Asset Service Provider (CASP) license under the European Union's Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation, also known as MiCA. This authorization allows Ripple to offer regulated digital asset services across all 30 countries of the European Economic Area.
The company received preliminary approval for the CASP license in June and completed the process on July 6, just days after the transition period closed for affected virtual asset service providers. The new regulations require providers to obtain a CASP authorization to offer crypto asset services in the EU.
Ripple's managing director for the UK and Europe, Cassie Craddock, said that the company is 'fully compliant and ready to scale.' She noted that European institutions prefer regulated partners when building digital asset services.
