Ripple Secures MiCA Approval for European Payment Services
Ripple has secured full authorization from Luxembourg's financial regulator, the CSSF, to operate as a Crypto Asset Service Provider under the European Union's MiCA rules.
This license allows Ripple to offer its payment services across all 30 countries in the European Economic Area. The company already held an Electronic Money Institution permit and has been working on building relationships with regulators and financial institutions worldwide.
XRP price, however, has not seen a strong reaction to the news, trading at $1.07 down 0.28% over the past 24 hours. The token remains below its key resistance levels, including its 50-day moving average near $1.10 and its 200-day moving average around $1.34.
Ripple's MiCA license is part of its long-term push into regulated payment services in Europe, with the company aiming to use its network for cross-border settlement. The steady inflows and stable open interest in XRP ETF assets, as well as no large outflows reported recently, suggest institutional investors have maintained their existing exposure to XRP.
