Ripple Stadium Deal Sparks Debate Over XRP Price Impact
Ripple, the company behind the XRP token, has signed a multi-year partnership with University of Florida Athletics to place the XRP logo on the field at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium. The deal is reportedly worth $5 million per year and will begin with the September 5 game against Florida Atlantic.
The XRP logo will appear on the 25-yard lines inside the stadium, as well as on the university's website and social media accounts. Ripple will also fund financial and technology education for student-athletes and the wider campus.
While this deal may increase awareness of XRP among a wide audience, it is unlikely to move the token's price in the short term. The XRP price has fallen 48% over the past year, despite Ripple's efforts to boost brand marketing.
A key factor in determining whether this deal will have any impact on the XRP price is whether the university or its vendors will start accepting payments in XRP. If that happens, it would indicate a significant shift towards adoption and potentially move the token's price.
