Ripple Touts CLARITY Act's Job Benefits, Citing 232,000 US Crypto Sector Roles
Ripple's Chief Legal Officer Stuart Alderoty has urged US lawmakers to support the proposed CLARITY Act, emphasizing its potential benefits for the country's cryptocurrency sector.
The National Cryptocurrency Association estimates that the US crypto sector supports 232,000 jobs and generates $55 billion in economic value. This includes direct crypto roles, which account for about 34,000 jobs, as well as suppliers and contractors who contribute around 75,000 more positions.
Alderoty argues that clearer rules could help retain crypto businesses and jobs in the US, potentially leading to increased economic activity and job creation. He quotes a statistic from the National Cryptocurrency Association, which estimates that crypto-related activity contributes $31 billion in additional worker income annually.
