Ripple Unveils Plan to Safeguard XRP Ledger from Quantum Threats by 2028
Ripple has unveiled a four-stage plan to protect the XRP Ledger from quantum threats by 2028. The company's goal is not to wait until quantum computing becomes an immediate threat, but to get ahead of it.
The first phase involves emergency protocols for rapid migration to quantum-secure infrastructure if significant threats emerge before the scheduled full upgrade.
The second phase is underway and includes a thorough evaluation of NIST-certified post-quantum cryptographic solutions, notably ML-DSA and Dilithium.
Ripple's engineers are also addressing recent advances in artificial intelligence that could potentially compromise quantum-resistant upgrades.
