Ripple Valuation Hits $50 Billion as Native Token Stumbles

Ripple's valuation has reached $50 billion after the company completed a $750 million buyback in March, but its native token XRP is struggling to keep up. XRP trades at around $1.03, down over 71% from its record high of $3.65 set in July 2025 and roughly half its January 2026 level.

The token has fallen to prices last seen in 2018, a remarkable decline given the regulatory clarity that Ripple has achieved. The company won a major legal victory in August 2025 when the SEC dropped its appeals, establishing that XRP is not a security when sold to retail investors.

Despite this progress, XRP has captured very little of Ripple's commercial success. Only about 40% of Ripple Payments flow uses XRP, and institutions prefer price stability for cross-border settlement, which is why the dollar-backed stablecoin RLUSD has reached a $1.56 billion market capitalisation.

The on-ledger data confirms the direction: XRPL active accounts have halved year-to-date while daily transactions tripled, driven by AMM pools, tokenized assets, and RLUSD-denominated settlement.
