Ripple's $10M RLUSD Mint Coincides with XRP Whale Activity
Ripple has minted $10 million in RLUSD stablecoins on the XRP Ledger, according to on-chain data. This move is part of Ripple's business model focused on B2B transactions with commercial companies through its Mint platform. In contrast, Tether has issued $1 billion in USDT on the Tron blockchain, primarily serving the mass retail market.
The difference in issuance volume between Ripple and Tether is substantial. Tether's treasury inventory now stands at $91 billion, while RLUSD has a market capitalization of approximately $1.52 billion, about 20% below its May peaks.
Interestingly, large investors or 'whales' have started moving funds aggressively on the spot market, with over 380 million XRP accumulated in the past week alone. These whales are defending the $1 level for XRP as a key support point.
