Ripple's $50 Billion Valuation Leaves XRP Token Price in the Dust
Ripple's valuation has surged to nearly $50 billion, following a deal to buy back $750 million in shares from employees and early investors. This move values the company at roughly twice its previous worth of around $40 billion in November 2025.
Despite the significant increase in corporate valuation, the XRP token price remains roughly 60% below its record high from last summer, according to CoinGecko.
The disparity between Ripple's strong business performance and ailing token price is due to the fact that equity buybacks do not give XRP investors any claim on revenue or cash-flow rights. A share buyback merely moves money within the company, rather than between the company and its token holders.
Ripple has undergone significant changes since resolving its long-running case with the US SEC in 2025. The firm has embarked on an acquisition spree, buying up several companies, including Hidden Road, Rail, GTreasury, Palisade, and two Australian firms this year. This has reshaped Ripple into a diversified financial holding company.
