Ripple's Business Booms, But Token Price Stays Muted
Ripple's business has expanded significantly since 2025, but its token, XRP, has not seen similar growth. The company has made several key acquisitions and partnerships, including buying a treasury platform for $1 billion, obtaining a MiCA license, and connecting Ripple Prime to Coinbase futures. However, despite these developments, XRP has fallen by over a quarter since 2025 and briefly dipped below $1 in August.
Ripple's CEO, Brad Garlinghouse, aims to reach a $1 billion annual operating revenue run rate by the end of 2026, excluding XRP sales. However, market participants are more focused on the token's price rather than operating metrics. Standard Chartered cut its forecast for XRP from $8 to $2.8 in February.
Ripple has invested in several companies, including UK fintech firms ZILO and Licuido, which are developing infrastructure for tokenized funds and digital asset management. The company has also made a strategic investment in Aviva Investors' tokenized liquidity fund on XRPL.
