Ripple's CTO David Schwartz believes XRP could potentially overtake Bitcoin in market value. According to Schwartz, this wouldn't happen because of a decline in Bitcoin's value but rather due to XRP growing faster than its competitor.

He emphasized that the entire digital asset market would need to expand significantly for XRP to capture a larger share. In this scenario, the speed and functionality of the XRP Ledger (XRPL) would give it an advantage over other major cryptocurrencies.

Schwarz pointed out that XRP's growth will depend on the adoption of the XRPL. The more real-world use cases and integrations the network receives, the higher demand for XRP is likely to be. He also highlighted the technical upgrades made to the XRPL, including security checks and node improvements.

The growing interest in XRP from institutional investors has also contributed to its growth. U.S. spot XRP ETFs have attracted around $1.70 billion in cumulative inflows, with major financial firms such as Goldman Sachs being among disclosed institutional XRP holders.
