Ripple's Escrow Release Goes Unnoticed by Markets
The latest escrow release from Ripple has been met with minimal market reaction. On September 1, approximately 1 billion XRP tokens were released into circulation, valued at around $1.38 billion at the time. However, this event did not trigger a significant sell-off as many had feared.
According to data, the token's price remained stable, trading between $1.38 and $1.42 in the days following the release. This muted reaction suggests that the market has adapted to the predictable nature of Ripple's escrow schedule.
The question remains whether this stability is due to genuine absorption by structural demand or simply a result of the strong momentum from August, which saw XRP climb 28.5% in value. The token's price had touched $1.70 before settling back, providing a cushion that may have helped mitigate the expected sell-off.
The broader market context also plays a role. The SEC and Ripple jointly dismissed their appeals on August 11, 2025, closing out a multi-year legal fight. Additionally, spot ETFs have been approved, with $153.55 million pulled in during August alone, contributing to the token's growing structural demand channels.
