Ripple's EU License Falls Flat as XRP Tumbles Below Key Support
Ripple's long-awaited regulatory victory in Europe has not yet translated to its cryptocurrency, XRP. Despite securing a critical Crypto Asset Service Provider license from Luxembourg's financial regulator, the company's token price continues to slide.
The San Francisco-based enterprise blockchain firm received the full CASP license from the Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier on Wednesday, marking a significant milestone in its European expansion. The authorization allows Ripple to offer payment services across all 30 countries in the European Economic Area under a single regulatory umbrella, streamlining the onboarding process for institutions.
Ripple's own survey found that 72% of European fintechs believe digital asset solutions will become a required offering for financial institutions within five years. The Luxembourg license is expected to unlock further adoption, with Ripple already supporting payouts across more than 60 markets on 51 real-time payment rails, backed by over 20 banking partners and more than $100 billion in total volume processed.
However, XRP's price action has been less convincing. The token breached the crucial $1.05 support level earlier this week, with technical analysts predicting a measured move of up to $0.90-$0.92. Momentum indicators also point to bearish sentiment, with the Relative Strength Index hovering near 44 and all four exponential moving averages stacked overhead.
