Ripple's Grip on XRP Ledger Called into Question by Crypto Asset Manager
Crypto asset manager 21Shares has taken aim at one of the oldest criticisms leveled against XRP, arguing that Ripple's influence on the network is overstated.
The firm claims that the network's validator structure makes it impossible for a single entity to control the XRP Ledger. In fact, Ripple operates only one of roughly 35 validators on the XRPL's default trusted validator list.
Protocol changes require support from more than 80% of trusted validators before they can be activated, making it extremely difficult for any single actor to push through changes.
