Ripple's Progress and Regulatory Limbo Weigh on XRP Price

XRP's price has been volatile over the past week, dropping to $1.01 before recovering to around $1.04 today.

This fluctuation is attributed to a mix of positive and negative news for the cryptocurrency.

On the one hand, Ripple, the company behind XRP, secured an EU license for its MiCA (Markets in Crypto-Assets) rulebook, allowing it to operate across the EU under a single set of rules. Additionally, the XRPLD version 3.3.0 upgrade was implemented on August 7, bringing native privacy tools and enhanced performance to the network.

Furthermore, institutional interest continued to grow as XRP gained credit rails on Ethereum through a Flare Network deal, making FXRP workable as collateral in a Sentora-run RLUSD vault on Morpho.

However, two significant events dragged down the price: the postponement of the Clarity Act vote by the Senate and an active airdrop scam warning from RippleX. The delay of the Clarity Act vote resulted in a nearly 5% drop in XRP's value.
