Ripple's Retirement Risk: Can XRP Deliver on $1 Million Promise?
The $1 million retirement target is often cited as the benchmark for financial security in old age. To reach this goal, investors are advised to use the 4% rule, which involves drawing down 4% of their portfolio each year.
However, a recent study suggests that using XRP (Ripple) as a primary source of income may not be the best strategy for retirement planning. The study found that even if XRP reaches its predicted price target of $38 by 2035, investors would still need to hold a significant position in the asset.
At today's price of $1.10 per coin, an investor would need around 900,000 XRP to reach $1 million. However, this is not a realistic expectation for most people, as even holding 100,000 XRP would still leave investors short of their target.
The study also highlights the risks associated with using volatile assets like XRP as a source of income in retirement. If the price of XRP were to drop by half in the first year of retirement, the investor's portfolio would be severely impacted, potentially leaving them without enough funds to cover essential expenses.
