Ripple's RLUSD Credit Fund Bolsters Institutional Use Cases for XRP
Ripple's latest move to expand institutional use cases for Ripple USD (RLUSD) has contributed to one of XRP's strongest rallies in months. The new institutional credit initiative, backed by Ripple alongside Clearpool and Cicada Partners, will provide working-capital loans denominated in RLUSD to fintech and payment companies.
This development shows how Ripple is attempting to move RLUSD beyond payments and settlement into institutional credit markets. While the credit fund itself did not cause XRP's rally, it has played a significant role in the asset's resurgence. Broader market factors such as increased liquidity, short liquidations, and renewed risk appetite have also contributed to XRP's growth.
The new credit initiative will allow institutions to borrow working capital in RLUSD, with Cicada handling borrower sourcing, underwriting, and credit-risk management. Clearpool is building the lending infrastructure, while Ripple participates as a limited partner without guaranteeing losses. The product is not yet fully live on the XRP Ledger mainnet.
