Ripple's RLUSD Stablecoin Could Get a Boost from XRP Ledger's Permission Delegation
Ripple's stablecoin product lead, Lauren Berta, believes that an upcoming feature on the XRP Ledger could significantly benefit the RLUSD stablecoin. The feature is called Permission Delegation and it will allow institutions to issue regulated assets on XRPL with greater ease.
Permission Delegation is currently up for validator voting on the XRP Ledger, and if implemented, it will enable issuers to delegate specific actions to separate accounts while keeping the issuer account secure. This separation of duties is similar to how stablecoin issuers operate on other chains, where different teams are responsible for different functions.
Berta noted that this feature is distinct from multisig, which requires parties to approve a transaction. Instead, Permission Delegation will allow issuers to split responsibilities and delegate specific actions to separate accounts.
