Ripple's RLUSD Surpasses $2B Market Cap, Nearly $1B Issued on XRP Ledger
Ripple's dollar-pegged stablecoin, RLUSD, has reached a significant milestone in its growth. With a market capitalization exceeding $2 billion, it has surpassed the $1 billion mark on the XRP Ledger alone. Launched in December 2024, RLUSD is designed for real-world utility and enterprise use cases.
According to RWA.xyz data, the stablecoin's market value stands at approximately $2.02 billion. Around $962.8 million was issued on XRPL, while around $1.05 billion was circulating on Ethereum. This means that nearly the entire RLUSD supply is accounted for by these two networks.
The rapid growth of RLUSD has been significant, with a market valuation increase of approximately 31.45% over the past 30 days, making it one of the top dollar-backed stable assets on the crypto market. Ripple's efforts to push RLUSD into institutional crypto have been successful, with nearly $1 billion issued on XRPL.
The expansion of RLUSD has reinforced the importance of XRPL as a hub for $USD crypto liquidity. The next big question will be how much of that increasing supply will be realized in recurring payments, trading, and institutional settlement activity.
