Ripple's Success Doesn't Translate to XRP
Ripple, a blockchain company and largest holder of XRP, has seen significant growth in its valuation to $50 billion since launching in 2012. However, the native cryptocurrency XRP hasn't shared in this success, with banks adopting Ripple's payments network without using XRP.
XRP serves as a bridge currency on Ripple's payments network and is used for paying transaction fees. Although financial institutions use Ripple's network, most haven't adopted XRP. This lack of adoption could limit XRP's long-term value.
Ripple has become one of the most successful blockchain companies, with a valuation of $50 billion in March 2026. However, its success hasn't translated to XRP, which has been slow to gain traction as a cross-border payments solution and decentralized finance (DeFi) application.
