Ripple's Tokenized Assets Gain Momentum Amid XRP Price Weakness
The XRP price has struggled to gain traction in recent weeks due to a lack of market participation, but beneath the surface, there are signs that the underlying network is gaining strength.
Ripple's push for tokenized assets on the XRP Ledger is gaining momentum, with the number of people holding real-world assets (RWAs) on the ledger increasing by 25% over the last month. The total dollar value of these tokenized assets has also grown to $4.06 billion, a 2% increase.
This growth in RWA adoption is significant because it represents institutional players putting money to work on the XRP Ledger, rather than just day traders jumping in and out. This expansion of the network's role in handling financial assets will require solid infrastructure to handle issuing them, settling trades, holding them safely, and keeping up with rules and regulations.
Ripple has recently announced two strategic investments aimed at strengthening institutional infrastructure on the XRP Ledger: ZILO, which provides regulated transfer agency and fund administration technology, and Licuido, a platform focused on tokenized asset issuance, trading, and collateral mobility. These investments are designed to support broader adoption of the XRP Ledger.
