Ripple's UBRI Expands to Over 60 Universities Worldwide
Ripple's University Blockchain Research Initiative (UBRI) has grown to more than 60 leading universities worldwide, marking an important milestone in its mission to advance blockchain innovation.
The initiative, launched in 2018, connects academic discovery with real-world blockchain applications through funding, technical support, educational resources, and open-source collaboration.
UBRI is driving breakthroughs in three key areas: AI-powered financial infrastructure, tokenized assets and digital markets, and post-quantum cryptography.
Researchers are exploring how artificial intelligence can interact with blockchain to automate payments, execute financial decisions, and enable autonomous economic agents. They're also developing new ways to represent and trade real-world assets on blockchain networks, aiming to improve market efficiency, increase liquidity, and broaden access to global investment opportunities.
