Ripple's Unprecedented Institutional Demand for XRP and RLUSD
Ripple's President Monica Long recently stated that institutional demand for XRP and its native stablecoin, RLUSD, is 'nothing like we've ever seen.'
This claim was highlighted by entrepreneur and Bitcoin investor Lark Davis, who noted that the level of interest is unprecedented. Long leads institutional relationships at Ripple, one of the most connected companies in crypto.
Davis attributed the gap between Long's statement and XRP's price to how institutions operate. He explained that institutional adoption runs on timelines that retail traders find difficult to endure, involving board approvals, compliance reviews, custody arrangements, and legal sign-offs before capital moves on-chain.
The current market environment also plays a role, Davis said, as it is currently a 'bear market,' which suppresses reaction times across the board. However, he emphasized that demand for XRP is building through compliance channels rather than public markets.
