Ripple's XRP Tumbles Amid Inflation Fears and Geo-Political Tensions
XRP is experiencing downward pressure despite the recent launch of Ripple Mint, a platform designed to expand access to the RLUSD stablecoin. According to Simon-Peter Massabni, Business Development Head at XS.com, digital assets are facing repricing risks due to rising geopolitical tensions and inflation fears.
The sell-off in XRP is mainly attributed to the broader crypto market sentiment, which is being weighed down by US inflation concerns and the ongoing war in the Middle East. Institutional interest in XRP-related digital assets, such as spot Exchange-Traded Funds (ETFs), is also fading, with cumulative weekly inflows standing at $8 million through Thursday.
Despite these challenges, Massabni believes that what we are witnessing is not the beginning of a new bearish cycle, but rather a healthy repricing of risk. However, he emphasizes that institutional demand needs to remain intact and not give way to broad-based selling pressure for XRP to recover.
