RippleX Warns of Fake 'XRP Rewards Scanner' Scam Targeting Crypto Wallets
RippleX and the XRP Ledger Foundation have issued warnings about a fake 'XRP Rewards Scanner' campaign targeting crypto wallets on social media platform X. The scam claims that Ripple is helping users recover unclaimed XRP by connecting their digital wallets.
The real danger, according to RippleX, lies in the transaction-approval step that follows after connecting a wallet and approving a transaction. Attackers can gain access to the victim's digital assets during this process.
RippleX emphasized that no legitimate entity will ever ask for a wallet's secret key or recovery phrase. The developer-facing division of Ripple warned users to verify announcements only through official channels before clicking links, connecting wallets, or signing transactions.
