River Sees Bitcoin Price Soaring to $840K in Five Years
River, a Bitcoin exchange platform, has published a model predicting that the price of Bitcoin could reach as high as $840,000 per coin within three to five years. According to River's analysis, institutional investors, who manage half of global financial wealth, have only recently begun allocating significant amounts to Bitcoin after the launch of spot Bitcoin ETFs in 2024.
Currently, investment advisors hold a mere 0.008% allocation to Bitcoin, but this picture is shifting quickly as 29 of the top 30 US Registered Investment Advisors now own Bitcoin, with a median allocation of 0.10% that grows each year.
River's forecast relies on two key figures: how much capital flows into Bitcoin and how far each dollar moves its market value. The firm estimates $1.3-5.3 trillion in net inflows against a global asset base of $333 trillion, using a conservative 20-40% allocation range for portfolios.
Applying a 3x multiple to Bitcoin's price movement, River concludes that the market value could rise to $5.5-17.5 trillion, equating to roughly $250,000 to $840,000 per coin. However, the firm emphasizes that this model relies on simple assumptions and actual capital inflows may differ.
