RLUSD Market Cap Surges Past $2.4 Billion Amidst Token Burns
Ripple's RLUSD stablecoin has undergone significant changes in its supply over the past few days. According to data from BSCN, a recent transaction on Ethereum resulted in 15 million RLUSD tokens being sent from the RLUSD Treasury to a null address, effectively removing them from circulation.
This move follows another large burn of 10 million RLUSD recorded on September 8. The combined total of 25 million RLUSD removed from circulation is substantial, yet the stablecoin's market capitalization has continued to increase.
As of now, RLUSD's market capitalization stands at approximately $2.42 billion, a significant rise from around $1.76 billion on August 18. This growth indicates that token burns do not necessarily translate into a decline in a stablecoin's overall supply or market capitalization over time.
The expansion of RLUSD's market capitalization despite recent burns highlights the dynamic nature of the cryptocurrency market, where new issuance can offset tokens removed from circulation depending on demand and treasury activity.
