Robinhood Aims to Revamp Privacy with Zero-Knowledge Protocol
Retail trading platform Robinhood is reportedly working on a zero-knowledge privacy protocol to enable anonymous swaps. This technology would allow users to make private deposits, swaps, and withdrawals without revealing any underlying information.
The protocol, built on zero-knowledge proof technology, will be integrated into Robinhood's existing swap features across networks including Ethereum, Solana, and Polygon. Currently, these swap features do not include ZK-based anonymity layers. The platform also lists the ZK token associated with zkSync for trading on its European platforms.
RH has been expanding its crypto footprint through various initiatives such as launching Robinhood Chain for tokenized assets and rolling out a non-custodial wallet that gives users direct control over their private keys. However, the company would need to navigate regulatory requirements under SEC oversight and anti-money laundering regulations when implementing ZK technology.
