Robinhood Brings Crypto Trading to UK Amid Fresh Regulatory Landscape
Roland Quittner, Robinhood's president of its UK arm and general manager of Bitstamp UK, said that digital assets are becoming a standard part of a diversified portfolio for young investors in the UK.
This shift is reflected in Robinhood's new crypto trading service for eligible UK customers. The platform offers access to more than 50 digital assets, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP, and Hyperliquid, directly inside its main investing app.
The offering carries zero trading, account maintenance, or custody fees, but charges a 0.10% foreign exchange fee and 0.30% on weekend conversions.
Roland Quittner emphasized that this move is not about chasing hot markets, but rather building out geographic distribution while waiting for volumes to recover. The UK rollout comes roughly fourteen months after Robinhood acquired Bitstamp in mid-2025.
