Retail investing app Robinhood has expanded its UK presence to include cryptocurrency trading, offering customers access to over 50 digital assets. The move follows Robinhood's registration with the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) on July 31 and comes ahead of the UK's new crypto authorization regime. The service operates through Bitstamp UK, which is also FCA-registered.

The rollout includes zero-fee trading and a 0.1% foreign exchange fee when converting currencies. However, some weekend conversions carry a 0.3% fee. Robinhood is also introducing Cortex Digests for Crypto, an AI-powered tool that reviews breaking news, market data, and technical indicators to explain price movements.

The company's blockchain business, Robinhood Chain, has recorded over $18 billion in decentralized exchange trading volume since its July 1 launch. The network is built using Arbitrum technology and allows developers to build applications on the platform. The expansion comes as Robinhood's crypto transaction revenue fell 38% year-over-year to $100 million in Q2 2026.
