Robinhood CEO Vlad Tenev's X account was hacked on Thursday and used to promote a fake memecoin. The post introduced $VLAD as the 'official Robinhood chain mascot' and falsely claimed it would be listed in the Robinhood app.

The company confirmed the account had been compromised, stating that the post was removed and they were working with X to restore access.

This incident occurred amid a wave of speculation surrounding Robinhood's blockchain network. Since its launch earlier this month, the network has attracted over $700 million in assets and surpassed 300,000 daily active addresses.
