Robinhood Chain Experiences Brief Outage Amid Record-Breaking Transaction Volumes
Robinhood Chain's Ethereum Layer 2 network experienced an unexpected outage on September 4, 2026, causing block production to freeze for between 4 and 14 minutes.
No funds were lost during this time, as the chain's architecture is designed to keep transactions secure even when a sequencer goes offline.
The issue was caused by unusually high demand, which stalled the chain's data submissions to Ethereum. The network uses an Arbitrum Orbit stack and targets a block production interval of roughly 100 milliseconds under normal conditions.
