Robinhood Chain Hit with Outage Just Two Months After Mainnet Launch
Rapidly growing Robinhood Chain suffered an outage lasting over 10 minutes on Friday, bringing attention to its reliability as a blockchain for tokenized financial markets.
The network's block explorer showed no new blocks for more than six minutes before transactions began recovering. The cause of the disruption has not been disclosed by Robinhood.
As a Layer 2 built using Arbitrum technology on top of Ethereum, Robinhood Chain is designed to operate independently from the company's main brokerage and crypto accounts. However, an outage can still affect users' on-chain transactions.
The incident occurred just two months after the network's mainnet launch on July 1, 2026, which aims to bring tokenized stocks and real-world assets onto blockchain rails. Recent data showed a surge in decentralized-exchange activity and over $700 million in total value locked in its DeFi ecosystem.
