Robinhood Chain, the Ethereum layer-2 network operated by Robinhood Markets, Inc., experienced an outage on September 4 that lasted over 14 minutes. During this period, token transfers and smart contract transactions were stalled due to a halt in block production.

The outage began at approximately 12:57 p.m. UTC and affected around 8,400 expected block intervals at the chain's normal speed of one block every 100 milliseconds. Users could still submit transactions but the network was unable to process them while block production was paused.

The cause of the outage has not been disclosed by Robinhood, and there is no estimated recovery timeline provided. The company's main status page did not list any incident for the chain during the outage.
