Robinhood Chain Revenue Stays Shrouded in Mystery
Rainmaker Robinhood's financials are still shrouded in mystery as its blockchain-based revenue figures remain unclear. According to DefiLlama, a platform that tracks decentralized finance metrics, Robinhood Chain revenue from applications totaled between $2.66 million and $2.82 million over a 24-hour period on September 1.
This figure is separate from the chain revenue of $963,612 and chain fees of $1.07 million during the same time frame. However, public records fail to provide a formula that converts these revenue figures into Robinhood's GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) revenue line.
The company's CFO, Shiv Verma, described its monetization strategy in terms of transactions rather than transaction volume during the second-quarter earnings call. He stated that Robinhood earns a few basis points per transaction, with approximately half shared with Arbitrum, but provided no precise rate or eligible transaction count.
